My daughter had a blackberry torch 9800 for about a year then about 6 months gave it to me. She never had any problems sending or receiving picture text. I have never been able to! Talked with serveral customer service reps...for up to an hour and they cant find out why. i wondered if when my daughter first got phone she registered a blackberry account could her number still be stored somehow and thats not letting my messages go thru?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

You need to treat this as a normal sell/buy of a used BB. As such, all of the steps in this KB really need to be followed:

  • KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone

What that will do is take everything back to as if it was fresh out of the box, with no service and no BB-services from the carrier. Then, you establish everything brand new, with no "pollution" from anything from the prior user.

Good luck!
