Hello all i dont seem to be able to set up my email on my new torch
Email setup asked me for my user name so i put my email address, then my login password but my torch just tells me "the user name is invalid. A user name must be at least 4 characters." my Email add is 27 char long??
please help

Hello
This may sound stupid from me but it sounds to me like you're on the login page (which means the user name has been set up and once entering this you will be offered to add an email address).
If i'm incorrect there then try contacting your network provider, they will be able to either add it for you OR create you (or tell you it if you already have one like my last sentence) a blackberry username/password - you'll then be able to log in using this and add the email to the account.

By network provider do you mean Orange? or my email provider?

Ah you're orange that makes it so much easier for me ![]()
Orange can provide you with your username to login and can reset the password if you don't know it. You will then be able to log-in using this and set them up. Or you could ask them to set it up for you and they will but you have to provide the email password.
Give us a call tomorrow, open 8am-10pm it will be a very quick resolution.

Call 150 and take the options of having problems with your phone. If you phone from your blackberry you'll be automatically re-directed to the blackberry teams i'm a part of. Anyone you talk to will be happy to sort this out for you.

Please help. I had to have my phone replaced and when i restored what was on it my email accounts were there. But when I put in my password to activate my email account it told me the password was invalid. So I deleted the email account and tried adding it again. When I put in the email address and password to add the account it told me it was invalid. I have another email account on the same phone and it is working fine.

Please clarify the exact error message you are presented. Also, please clarify exactly the input screen into which you are attempting to enter this information. Step by step, starting from your Homescreen, would be most helpful...

I go to set up, then email accounts, then set up another email account, then other, as none of the choices correspond to the email i am setting up. Then on the next screen i enter the email address and password and click on continue. then the exact message is:
invalid email address or password. verify your email address and password. It is a univerisity email account and the IT department of my university have tried everything and have not idea what else to do. So I am guessing it is a blackberry issue and not an issue with my university system.
I have tried this numerous times, so I know the email address and password are definitely correct. I have a hotmail account on the phone and it is working fine.
