stolen device

my blackberry torch 9860 was stolen, but its registered w/ blackberry protect, im trying to track the phone but unfortunately i can't, if the thief took off my sim card and uses another sim card, will the blackberry protect still work? or is there other ways to track the phone when it's used on a different number or network provider? thanks

Re: stolen device

If they took out the battery you won't be able to track it anymore. If they try to put in their own sim card it will wipe the device information.

Re: stolen device

from my knowledge I know you can block esn/imei so user won't be able to use it. but I will have to let other blackberry users on here answer on the tracking with the ESN/IMEI part since i am unsure about that..
