weird keyboard/ sound/ dial pad problem

Hi, I have a bb torch 9800, and I can't find out what's wrong with my virtual keyboard! Every time I touch it, it dissapears. And even when it can't automatically dissapear, when I try to type it doesn't even respond! I have to resort to using my physical keyboard which I do not prefer.

Sound issue: my overall sound and quality is great! But I've had my phone for 3-4 months and now I can't change my sound profile! I'll touch the icon, but the profile menu won't show. It won't even show if I select it with my keypad. Now my phone is stuck on silent and that can't be good. I really need help on that quick because I don't want to miss phone calls.

Finally, the dial pad problem: I can call people with my on screen dial pad, but when the call is connected it won't let me anymore! For example: When I call my mom's job and I need to call her office, I can dial the company on my screen. But after I'm connected and I need to dial her extention, I have to use my physical keyboard to dial it.

My phone has been working just just fine until yesterday. ƪ(•̃͡ε•̃͡)ʃ what's happening??

Re: weird keyboard/ sound/ dial pad problem

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Best!

Oh...OK...well you didn't report that, and I assume nothing beyond what is posted. So, in the interest of not providing any further redundant recommendations, can you please list out ALL that you have already tried?

Thanks.

Re: weird keyboard/ sound/ dial pad problem

Oops I haven't replied in months! The problem is fixed, something was just loose because I drop my phone a lot. Thanks anyways.
