Re: wifi on torch 9810

Missed that. It says not connected. Do you mean I need to have data connection to use WiFi?

Re: wifi on torch 9810

No, you don't have to have a BIS data plan to use WiFi.

You do have to have that BIS data plan to get BlackBerry pushed email, BBM, etc.

Re: wifi on torch 9810

The internet browser should work fine with no mobile network and only on WiFi,... so when you are connected to WiFi and open the browser icon, what happens?

Re: wifi on torch 9810

When connected to wifi, and open the browser, the browser opens good, and when i go to google.com, it says that error,

"Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later.

If the problem persists please contact your service provider."

Thanks,

Re: wifi on torch 9810

what should i ask them, that my wifi is not working, which they are least concerned about...

when the device says to contact service provider that means it is looking for data connection.... isn't it?

am i making any sense here?

Thanks,
JSanders

Re: wifi on torch 9810

it means it is looking for a mobile network connection.

If you got your wifi working, it would at least use the wifi data.

Can you try connecting at local WiFi hotspot such as a coffee shop or McDonalds ?
