In December I got my third replacement 9630 in less than a year. From the first day this one has had a single maddening flaw. If the transmitter is on, after every 25 seconds of typing it freezes for about 10 seconds. I can then type again for another 25 seconds, and then it freezes again. The only way I can use the unit without this happening is to turn off the radio, type my email or text, and then turn on the radio again to transmit. I originally thought the problem might be due to a memory shortage, but then why would the radio setting matter? Any suggestions?

Hi there,

If you notice that it only happens when the radio is on, check the top right corner while you're typing.  When it freezes, do you see the data arrows working? 

Also, what carrier and OS version are you on?  You can find the OS version by going to Options > About.  This sounds to me like a software related issue, especially if you've never updated the phone, so it's completely possible that we might be able to do something that can help.

Thanks for the quick response. There are no arrows visible while I'm typing (whether it's frozen or not).

I'm on Verizon.

The software says:

Have you ever upgraded your device or did it come with that OS?

Regardless, one thing that may help in this case is to reload the software from scratch using the steps located here:

Given that stuff that you tried previously doesn't seem to have helped, this should.  If it doesn't, that would suggest to me that there is something more at play here (e.g. a potential hardware issue?).  But try that, and then let us know how it works out.

Have the same problem with my 'bold' its a piece of **bleep**- my older curve was much better-
