I have a user traveling to London next week and he wants to know if the Blackberry Maps app will work. We use Verizon for our service provider.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would love to hear your user's experience with this.
I have tried to use Blackberry Maps in France - the maps are fine, but I have never been able to get a GPS signal so the navigation portion of the app is useless. I'm assuming that either the navigation satellites in Europe operate on a different frequency from those in the US, or use a different communication protocol. The third alternative would be that the connecting device has to have an authorization code, and our US carriers don't supply the correct one.
Maybe someone who works for one of the carriers can give us a definitive answer on this?

PS - you can still use the "Get Directions" option of BB Maps, even if the SatNav part is non-functional. The result is identical with what you used to get from MapQuest - turn-by-turn instructions with mini-maps. Not ideal, but useful nevertheless.
