Content not available. Server is blocked or unresponsive.

I've recently run into problems playing youtube videos on my Blackberry Tour. Every time I try, I get the following message, "Content not available. Server is blocked or unresponive." I've tried battery pulls several times but the problem still persist. Does anyone know any other methods in fixing this problem. Thanks in advance.

Re: Content not available. Server is blocked or unresponsive.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!!

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):

1) Register HRT

  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > blackberry_logo.jpg (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

If not -- are you perhaps a corporate BES user? If so, it is possible that they decided to block it.

Good luck!

Could you please explain Step 2? I don't understand what that means. Thanks.

Step 2 is a link...open it and it contains a full set of instructions.

Re: Content not available. Server is blocked or unresponsive.

I'm trying to get through Step 2. I have 3 email accounts set up with my Blackberry. 2 of them were successful, but i'm having trouble with the 3rd. It tells me using such programs as Outlook and Thunderbird, but I've never used either one before so I don't really understand what to do.

Re: Content not available. Server is blocked or unresponsive.

Please tell me where exactly in that KB you are stuck...the step number, something to help me know what you are doing. From what you said, I can make no sense of it -- the KB does not care how many email addresses you have configured in BIS...

And, what does "successful" with 2 of them mean? And what does "unsuccessful" with the 3rd mean? Does it mean that you received, onto your BB, the confirmation message for two of your configured email accounts, but did not receive it for the third?

The text of the confirmation message is not relevant at this moment...so you can ignore what it's saying about desktop email programs (Outlook, TBird).

Thanks!

Re: Content not available. Server is blocked or unresponsive.

Sorry for the lack or clarification. I'll try to explain better. During the 2nd step, in trying to Resend the Service Books, I was able to set up 2 of my emails to my Blackberry but not the thrid.  However, as you said, the email confirmations are not relevant at this point. Now that Step 2 is apparently complete, do I go on ahead and do the battery pull? Thanks.

[ Edited ]

Hmmm...well, the KB has nothing to do with setting up your emails. Rather, it has everything to do with resending the Service Books for the emails that are already configured in BIS. So I'm still not sure what you are doing...if you did not receive the Service Books for your third already-configured email account, then there could be a problem with that. But yes, go ahead to the batt-pull...it can't hurt.

Oh, and when you cited the step, you only cited step 2 of my 3. To be more detailed, how about citing the step within that Resend Service Books KB...that might help me understand what you are doing and where you are doing it.

Thanks!

Re: Content not available. Server is blocked or unresponsive.

You're right. The batt-pull can't hurt. I did it and now my Youtube vids are working. If I have any more problems, I'll come back here to seek assistance. Thanks very much for your help (and patience)!
