My Device Time and network time are different by a couple of minutes. My friends BB is different by about 1 hour.

- Why is that?

The device does not automatically update its time.

What are you time settings? Network or BlackBerry?

While in the Date/Time settings > Menu > Update time and it will update the time according to the network.

I tried that and it still boots me back an hour.  BlackBerry Tour 9639, Verizon Wireless,  I have my Home Time Zone set for Eastern Time -5 and I am working in Egypt +2.  When I set the Time Zone to Cairo +2, Auto Update Time Zone (in either on or off) and in settings Date/Time Set Time to Automatic and then go to menu and click Update Time, it still offsets an hour back from the network time instead of syncing perfectly with the network time.  It is reproducible because I am pulling out most of my hair trying to figure out why it does not sync with the network time.  Mobile Network is set to Automatic and the Technology us set to GSM/UMTS (3G or 2G) or at times set to Global but the results on the clock are the same.  If I set it to automatic and set the time (always one hour ahead), it of course changes my home time (Eastern) ahead an hour as well.  All help is appreciated.

I have the exact same problem.  I live in Santiago, Chile.  Here they have a habit of changing the dates that DST begins and ends, so many "systems" seem to have problems with setting the time correctly.

However, the network time on the device seeems to always be correct.  Phones that I have had in the past had 3 options for setting the time: Manual, Automatic, Network.  By setting it to Network, it would always set the time correctly as long as the network time was correct.

I followed the directions in the previous posts, and it changes to the network time.  However when I save and then return to the home screen, it resets the time to an hour earlier after about 30 seconds.

I can't believe this is still open, and that there is no response from Blackberry.,
