Apologies if this has been posted before.
Ok, so here's the deal. I've had BB devices for a few years now and I've generally been very happy. Recently got a BB Tour mainly because I wanted capability to use overseas.
In general I love the phone, but...and it's a big but...the camera is really p****ing me off. I mainly use my phone camera to capture shots of my son (14 months). Have taken some great shots of him with my last two BBs. Unfortunately, with the Tour...he doesn't understand that he has to sit still for the 36 hours it takes for the device to actually take the bloody picture after I press the shutter button.
I've become quite good at predicting when he's going to do something cute and it works as long as I point the camera at a location he might be whenever the phone decides to take the pic, but it's not really ideal, and it is apparent that the designers/engineers have no understanding of the concept of candid photography.
My question is...is this an issue that may be fixed (or at least lessened because right now it really is absurd) in a software update at some point? Or am I just going to have carry on as I am until the inevitable day when my head explodes from frustration? Are there any s

cut off question is "are there any settings I can change to lessen the issue"? Thanks

Does it really take 36 hours? Accurate information makes it much easier for us to help you.
Are you using the trackball to take the pictures? I recommend using the right side convenience key. After you open the camera, simply press the button down the first level to autofocus, then push the rest of the way when you want to snap the picture. There is a short delay but this method works much better than just pushing the trackball.

....No...it doesn't really take 36 hours...I was being ironic there....
Here's some info on sarcasm...

Thanks much for the suggestion though...I'll give that a try see if it works out better. Appreciate the assistance!

I don't need a lesson in sarcasm...If you research my posts you'll see that.
My point was that I have no idea if there is a longer than usual delay with yours, indicating a problem, or if you were just complaining about the normal delay.
When I use my camera I hold the button down halfway and keep it focused and then snap the pic when it's time. There is still a short delay, though, and yes it can be annoying. But if you're doing with the trackball you will have at least twice the delay.

Yeah sorry about that couldn't resist...
I would say the delay is about 30-45 seconds...

Just tried what you suggest though....albeit on static target...and was significantly better...thanks!

Is it taking 30-40 seconds to open the camera app? Or does it take that long to actually snap the pic?

No app opens quite quickly...phone takes that long to snap the pic...u think I have a hardware/software issue?

30-40 seconds is WAY too long. What exactly does it do during the 30-40 seconds?
