HI,
Iam currently using a BB9630 (Verizon - V5.0 .0.975 - Unlocked Phone). Currently using the AIrtel Data Services plan from India.
All was well until last week , since when the services stopped working. Problem was i had given a password to lock my phone. When i used it unlock by providing incorrect password , my BB swiped all the existing info.
From thenon iam getting edge in small letters and not in CAPS as EDGE. Hence unable to use any services.
Can you please help.
NOTE : I have done the settings change as Manual / Automatic and removed battery , removed SIM . Everyting was tried , but noting worked out. Pls help.
Also the Diagnostics Report says:
Radio Access : EDGE
ICMP Ping Echo : Yes
Blackberry Registration : No
Connected to BB : Abort
Blackberry PIN-PIN:Abort.

1) Register HRT: (OS5) Home Screen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scroll to any line entry and > press the Menu key > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 or OS 7 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced > Host Routing Table, etc.
2) Resend Service Books: Article ID: KB02830 How to send the service books for a BlackBerry Internet Service account. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
3) Then, with the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

HI Sanders, Thanks for your update . I tried contacting my service provider , but they say that unless i get edge in CAPS i.e. EGDE , they cannot send the service book. Can you please suggest an alternate?

Are you in India?
There are NUMEROUS reports here of former Verizon CDMA network devices, unlocked, in use in India which have lost BIS BlackBerry data services.
What I'd suggest is to call Airtel back and DEMAND they escalate your issue to BlackBerry/RIM technical support tier.
They may hesitate, but they should do this, don't let them say they can't.

Ok got mine fixed thanks to post by mannaggia on here. You need to go into Blackberry Appworld on your computer. Click on facebook download...............connect your blackberry phone to your computer using USB cable. Click on download........you may have to download a appworld plugin for your browser. Do it..............you may have to change your settings to give permission to download content on your phone.........do it! Then.........download and log in.
