OS Update SUCKS!!!!

Just updated (via auto update) my Tour 9630.  It worked fine until then.  On startup I get this error message - 

Uncaught exeption: java.lang.NullPointerException

 

Most everything seems to work at the moment but I haven't tried everything yet.  Blackberry and Yahoo Instant Messenger won't work at all and the same error message appears.   I wouldn't be surprised if something else is screwed up.

 

I've installed the latest Y! IM and tried reinstalling the OS.  No luck.

 

I'd like to downgrade the OS but it seems it can't be done using a Mac, only on a PC.  

 

Any suggestions or fixes?

Even reloading the OS that is currently installed should be fine.  The catch with the wireless update is that things are a lot more likely to go wrong.  So this should help.

Thanks for the info.  Reinstalled the new OS and still had problems so I downgraded to the previous OS and all seems to be working as normal.  Calendar didn't reload but after doing a sync it was restored.
