Tour email synch - deleting on computer does not delete on Tour when synching

When I wire synch my Tour with my MS Outlook email, the emails which I have deleted from Outlook are not deleted from the Tour email, resulting in a huge buildup of unread (largely junk) emails.  I have the Options/Email Reconciliation set to delete on "Mailbox & Handheld."  How can this be accomplished?  I know there must be a simple answer.
