blackberry no longer playing music through headset

Hey there,

I am struggling with my bb not being able to listen to music through earphone..

It has been working very well but from today for some reason, it stopped working.

I was trying to figure out if I have clicked something wrong by any chance yet I failed to find out.

It would be great to hear words from everyone!

Thank you Smiley Happy

Re: blackberry no longer playing music through headset

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Best!

Re: blackberry no longer playing music through headset

Thank you for your response but it still hasn't worked...

I have tried my headset with different phones and it is working fine..

What would be the problem?

I didn't even drop or anything.

Re: blackberry no longer playing music through headset

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, try again.

If the behavior ceases in Safe Mode, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

Good luck and let us know!

Thank you for your tip and it worked under the safe mode!

However, i really don't have any causations I could think of since i'm using this phone in uk and ive got zero access to any apps, internets but to use for phone calls and texting..!

I really doubt if it's anything to do with it..

What should i do after this safe mode? Should i leave it like that or turn off and back to regular?

Plus if I just reset everything and clean everything up, is there a chance it will come back?

Thank you
