blackberry tour 9630 not powering on

Hi

goodday

i have this tour 9630. whenever i put the battery. the red light shows up on the phone . blinks ,but nothing shows up on the screen. the phone is like dead. is ther anything that can be done. i would like to know thanks.

Hello ranks21 and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.

 

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your BlackBerry® Tour™ 9630 smartphone.

 

It sounds like you will need to reinstall the device software to correct this.

 

Using the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, connect your smartphone to the computer. You may need to remove the battery to make a connection.

 

Follow the steps in KB11320 How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows to install the device software. If you removed the battery, once the load starts, reinsert it.

 

If you encounter any issues during this software reload then contact your mobile network provider for further investigation.

i followed the insructions as stated. the phone was connected to the computer. the red light  blinks and when i take out the battery , the computer is not reading the phone. so there is A BIGGER PROBLEM WITH THE PHONE WHICH I DONT KNOW. a young child had the phone previous on the internet. dont know what was done to it.,if something was downloaded on it or if its a virus.

 Is there anything that i can do again to resolve this issue?
