Re: content protected

Your condescending attitude and flippant insinuation is not necessary or accurate. I owned this phone for nearly two years and it has worked fine. I put it in my breifcase and when I retrieved it the names and phone numbers were blank and the "content protected" was in its place. The settings have been changed somehow and I would like it to work properly. If you have a fix for this problem it would be appreciated..

Re: content protected

Great, you want to belittle me to get help.

You asked how do you unlock it, so... put in your password correctly. If you didn't mean to ask that, what did you intend to ask? That's not condescending, it's a question to try to help understand what it is that you're asking. If you have never put a password on the device, then why are you asking how to unlock it?

If you want to remove the content protection, go to Options > Security > Encryption (or according to your OS release, look at Options > Security > General Settings > Content Protection.

Anyway, to help you understand... you have no idea how many questions similar to your I see posted by people who are obviously trying to get into their girl/boyfriend's BlackBerry, their spouse, ex-spouse, fathers, etc.

So, it's a legitimate question for me to inquire if it is even your BlackBerry. Believe me, been there, done that.

Re: content protected

You're welcome, of course.

But I really am curious... was it password protected?

Were you able to remove the content protection? Any idea how that got set in your briefcase without you knowing it?

Re: content protected

Yes it was password protected but that was not the issue. I shoved it into my briefcase with a multitude of other items and I guess it was pressing the scroll button while pressing and changing the settings . I did not do it intentionally and I did not know where to look to fix the issue. Thanks again for the help.
