tour 9630

I'm having trouble registering my tour on the bb network.  Can I wipe my device completely and then add settings?

 I don't know why people in South Africa buy the 9630 for use there,... there is currently a known issue of CDMA devices bought from the United States not working in South Africa on Vodacom. It's just not a good mix and there's little chance of it working.

 

  • When you try to register, what happens, what message?
  • Is your device IMEI and PIN registered with Vodacom?
  • Have you called Vodacom and what do they say?

Hi there

Yes as I noticed about a week ago.  I bought the phone on Bid or Buy.  Didn't know about the networking stuff.

  • When i register the message says: message sent, but there is no confirmation message that i receive back. It doesn't come through.
  • My device and pin is registered with Vodacom.
  • They couldn't understand what the problem is until they sent my request through to the tech dept.  They also told me it only works on the CDMA network and SA works under ACDMA network.

Is there a way I can change settings on my side?  I had the phone now for 8 months and it worked fine till a week ago.
