Thank you App World Team for the recent faster approval of updated, new apps, and meta data.

It does make a difference and encourage devs to publish more.  Because of these faster times I'm making significantly more money off some new releases weeks earlier than expected.

I've complained plenty in the past but when it's good I compliment.  Thank you.

With full due respect, I am not happy with the approval time at all. 

I submitted one new version request on May 15, and now is almost May 18, it is still not approved.

I submitted one change of description May 16 and now again, it is still new.

Maybe I am just too pamperred by Google's instant change. Don't understand WHY there should be an approval or why it can't be fast.

Ok, after a reading of other posts in this forum, I came to the conclusion that waiting for 2 days is considerred short here.

What can I say, oh well. Blackberry if you gonna catch up on apps , such tasks need to be maximumly optimized/automated or deploy enough staff to take care of it. 

Just god forbid if there is one error during the submission and you thought your local file is working fine then you will not notice immediately that the submitted file is currupted. In that case, slow approval will significantly affect users' experience in app world . i.e. buggy / corrupted file may be there for quite some time before updated. 

Anyways, I hope RIMM well.

AFAIK, a corrupted COD file won't load at all on a BlackBerry.  It will download, but not run.  So if it's corrupted it won't be approved if the store checks it at all.

The main continuing problem is meta data changes still sometimes take too long, and longer than release approvals.  I wish all that could be submitted as a single ticket so it all gets approved together.

I am not sure about the COD files because I only publish BAR files for Blackberry Playbook...

Signature must be based on a hash of the contents, otherwise you could just cut-and-paste a signature from another file. So if the contents are corrupted the signature will be invalid, it won't run.

The whole point of approval is that a corrupted file would not get approved to begin with.

Well, my app has been under review for one week. bar file is ok, app is working, have just no **bleep** idea, why it takes so long. It is my first app and i'm a little disappointed. Just wanted to release it for BB Academic program inauguration at my university. Well....

Totally agree. All the points mentioned above I agree. But again, either rim has inferior infrastructure than Google or what, updating your app or a description should not be so slow. They have no automatic system to test and go through it?
