Re: Community Port-A-Thon

Hi there,

my apps also haven't been reviewd yet. I also tried to contact rim via mail but no response.

So I think they have to extend the deadline because of this issue...

Perhaps there were too many apps...

Best

Re: Community Port-A-Thon

They have a backlog of over 30,000 apps to review. I'm not sure that receiving 30,000 emails is going to speed up the process at all.

Re: Community Port-A-Thon

I wish they would communicate with the developers what exactly is going on.. hearing nothing but silence isn't good PR.

Even with a "we are currently overloaded with app reviews, expected time-frame is X-Y days" would have been good. but we don't hear anything at all.. no acknowledgement

Re: Community Port-A-Thon

I agree, plus emails are handled by someone else anyway so it shouldn't stop them from reviewing 30.000 apps.

[ Edited ]

They had originally set a deadline of Jan. 11 to submit apps to the store so that Built for BlackBerry could be applied for by the 21st, so they were aiming at approving apps for the store in 10 days.

They are now saying that apps submitted by the 21st can be approved in time to apply for Built for BlackBerry (and the 10K commitment) on Feb. 18, so they are allowing a maximum 4-week window for app approval in BlackBerry World. Clearly, they are not able to approve everything in 10 days, but 28 days is an absolute outside time frame. That what we have to go on.

This is the blog post I'm referring to: http://devblog.blackberry.com/2013/01/extending-the-deadline-for-built-for-blackberry/

Re: Community Port-A-Thon

I believe most of their resources are being put to approve the B4B apps. They already extended those so it's a hard deadline. It takes a LOT more effort reviewing those B4B apps.

I haven't heard anything from them from the LAST Chance Portathon. Most likely they will get back to us once they finish those.
