European sales tax, Bango

I'm in the US and according to Bango sales tax is deducted from the price of the app.

Up to 24% tax is deducted from the sale of an app. Plus the normal 30%.

So why am I paying European sales tax when it should be payed by the customer?

In this case a 0.99 cent apps sells for 0.64 cents in that market. Tax is 24%, I get 70% minus a 1.9% conversion fee.. According to bango this comes to 0.35 cents for me. At least this is what the billing invoice says.

I guess I need some help understanding this.

Re: European sales tax, Bango

For a 0.99 app with 24% tax, the customer is charged 1.23

The tax is charged over the retail price specified by you.

Re: European sales tax, Bango

I took a closer look at the EU-part of the Bango invoice, something is definitely wrong

Operator Bill CZE Deutsche Telekom CZ (RIM) 0.90 0.00 0.00 0.90 19.0 70.00 0.76 0.53 1.90 0.01 0.52
Operator Bill DEU Vodafone GIG (RIM) 0.96 0.00 0.00 0.96 19.0 70.00 0.81 0.56 1.90 0.01 0.55

Luckily I have only one sale for two carriers, so I can check the earnings. As you can see the app price is about $0.99 (due to curency conversion $0.90/$0.96). At the end I get $0.52/$0.55. Far from 70%, right? Bango has taken also 19% tax from the base app price.

I don't see a way to set European tax options.

Upon checking I think I see the same. These are only a few of the carriers...

Operator Bill NLD Vodafone GIG (RIM) 1.92 0.00 0.00 1.92 19.0 70.00 1.61 1.13 1.90 0.02 1.11

Operator Bill ITA Vodafone GIG (RIM) 1.26 0.00 0.00 1.26 21.0 70.00 1.04 0.73 1.90 0.01 0.72
Operator Bill GBR Vodafone GIG (RIM) 28.53 0.00 0.00 28.53 20.0 70.00 23.78 16.65 1.90 0.32 16.33

My app is $1.99 ($1.92 after conversion), tax rate 19%, earnings rate 70%. In the end I am only paid 57 percent on this purchase. On the other I am only paid 57% again!

On the last I am paid 57% approx again..

Re: European sales tax, Bango

Looking back to November its the same though?

See my sales for europe for November.

158.48 0.00 0.00 158.48 132.09 92.24 1.76 90.48

Gross sales: $158.48

Net Earnings: $90.48

This equals 57% of what I sold..

Why are they deducting european tax from what we sell? It should be added on to the sale of the app when they are billed?

Yes, it's supposed to be added on to the price of the app.

Re: European sales tax, Bango

BTW - here are the notes attached with their payments.

Note:
Dear Vendor, Please find your Blackbery App World Carrier payment for October Activity, less refunds, paid at 70%. For any queries relating to this payment please contact support@bango.com. Regards Bango Finance

Clearly they are paying out less refunds, 70% and then less european taxes. I have sent an email to support@bango.com to see what is going on here. I suggest you guys do the same.

Re: European sales tax, Bango

In EU it is different. The price you see MUST CONTAIN the tax inside the price (in EU at least you know how much you really have to pay). Taxes are different from EU country to EU country and there is a possibility that US and EU have a special agreement regarding taxes.
