How do I protect paid for apps?

I want to migrate a paid for app from Android to BlackBerry. On Android, I protect it by verifying the license with the google store every time the app starts. I can't find anything at all about how to protect an app on BlackBerry. Can anyone point me to the relevant pages please?

Thanks

Re: How do I protect paid for apps?

There are existing mechanisms, but they require either that you implement your own server to handle this, or at least manual user action upon installation and first launch of your app.

See for example http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-App-World-Development/Pooled-Dynamic-licensing-any... or http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/App-World-Insider-Event-with/License-key-support/td-p/1224503 or http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-App-World-Development/Programmatic-access-to-licen...  and also http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCMQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fus.bla... (PDF)

That said, you may want to simply wait until the first maintenance release after 2.0 is out.  RIM has promised some changes in, I believe, that release, which will apparently significantly improve our ability to protect our IP and prevent piracy.  Part of that initiative could involve improving the existing too-crude support for license keys.

I'm ignoring the issue until then... probably will happen by about mid April.

Thanks. I think I'll wait for the next version then - it sounds like it will be much easier.
