Re: Keywords for searching App on Blackberry App World

Searches are also filtered based on the user's country, carrier, device and OS.  The different OS used here (and possibly country) is the likely cause for the different results.

FYI Searches include title, vendor name and description.  Title and vendor name matches are weighted more heavily than matches in the description.

Development tested out the "map quest" search and found that Magellan Compass Maps came in between 400 and 500 in the result set due to the number of applications that have "map" and "quest" in the title.

Re: Keywords for searching App on Blackberry App World

So the term "map quest" does not rank higher than the term "map"? I would think the more letters that match the request would rank higher than partial matches. I would think the whole word match would be done before splitting each word up. There is goijg to be a lot of poor results otherwise.
