Package-Id issue while submitting app to app world

======Copied from cascades dev forum=============

This question seems to have been asked umpteen times... but did not get a proper answer.

I am creating a Cascades BB10 app, when I submitted i got the usual package-id error..

File bundle (YOUR_NAME) has been rejected. Package ID is required for all .bar file. If this is an upgrade, Package ID must match Package ID in original file bundle.

I created the bar file from Momentics using below step:

right-click project -> Export -> BlackBerry -> Release Build

In this I have enabled digital signing also, I am able to install the app using command line.

But when I upload this app I get the error...

Please note that everytime I create the bar file for my testing , I used to do a signing....

Also this is the first time I am submitting the app to app world...

More info:

Below is the snippet from the manifest.mf file of the bar file..

Re: Package-Id issue while submitting app to app world

So are you submitting an update, or is this an original upload with no previous versions uploaded before it? If it's an update, compare the Package-Name and Package-Id fields from both bar files' manifest.mf files and see what's changed.

Is the APP ID unique from any other app that you have previously uploaded?

Re: Package-Id issue while submitting app to app world

Other things to sort out then:

When you submit, are you using the "batch import files" feature or the "add filebundle" feature?

Are you uploading the .bar file directly after the Release Build or have you tried modifying it in any way (e.g. unzipping and rezipping)?

Is that manifest file at the path (inside the .bar) META-INF/MANIFEST.MF (all caps too), or somewhere else?

No modifications:

It is inside the .bar

Re: Package-Id issue while submitting app to app world

mdmdev, not sure what it might be, but if you'd like to send it to me, I can inspect it directly to see if there's anything wrong about it that stands out for me. (It's possible this is an issue unrelated to the contents of the .bar file too, but I don't see any sign of that yet.)

If that would help, send me a PM and we can sort out how to transfer the file that way.
