For the first time since I installed build 7111 on the PB, I tried to purchase an app.  I entered by BBID password and it came back with "You have exceeded the maximum number of attempts to sign in.  Try in 15 minutes when the security lock out time ends.  Click Forget Password if you need to create a new password".

Is this a bug?

Haven't seen that... any chance someone used the web access to App World to try to log into your BBID account? Maybe whatever email you used for that is reasonably well known.

Seems like the number of failed attempts allowed is set to 1. Funny, it was your Battery Guru that I finally got around to purchase. I get an alert that I need this very long license key (after the app installed). What do I do with that?

That's in there as an experiment, so we could all learn how license keys were actually supported on the PlayBook... and the ways in which they're not well supported. 

Given that you're a very experienced developer and PlayBook user, I'm going to consider your question absolute proof of my claim that how RIM implemented that dialog and the license key feature is wholly unusable and seriously needs improvement before anyone could use it for real.

It would be one thing if I asked me to save it to a file or copy to the clipboard, because I assumed that I needed to do something with it when I ran the app the first time.

Exactly my point. The dialog and the whole feature is beyond our control, other than choosing to use it or not. Clearly, given how it acts now, few would choose to use it.

I'm leaving it as is solely in the hopes that with 2.0 we'll see some improvement, or at least some clear direction and promises of improvements shortly after.
