Strange tier price (RIM $4.99) ?

I was checking the price tiers today and found a strange one:

between Tier002 - $3.99

and Tier003 - $4.99

there is Tier RIM - $4.99

What's that for? Any ideas? Stock price prediction maybe? :Balloon:

Looks like a lack of QA.

Re: Strange tier price (RIM $4.99) ?

LOL...

When RIM was doing the app giveaway when their network went down a while back, that's the price tier that participating vendors were asked to use, so that the product would be free for customers, but yet still paid out by RIM. It also placed those apps in a special "We're sorry" featured section.

Anyone caught using the tier without approval was "promptly" removed from App World.

Agreed with John, lack of QA. Should be removed, hidden, or made available only to certain vendors.

I really wish RIM would support promo codes/coupons. And yes, RIM needs to strengthen their QA team. Seems a lot of issues could be avoided if the QA process was a little tighter.

I agree, would be nice to have coupon codes to give out yet so discounts can be applied selectively :smileyhappy:
