Re: Suggestions RIM should work next year

Yes!

No Offense RIM... but you should take a look at Mobihands site.. they have done a good job. Its easy to look up anything from profit (where it shows you the total AND your amount after %) .. and customer orders... we can issue refunds ourselves.. etc.

Re: Suggestions RIM should work next year

As I suggest in the first post it's really neccessary to have a better tool for customer support. The support should include by default the following information email the App World - Name of the App - Device - Os and if the app was purchased or not . In the meantime I just made a template that I use for support asking for this info.

StaticFX or if they don't want a look to Mobihand maybe they can listen to our suggestions. After all devs are suppose to be the most important part of App World no?

Re: Suggestions RIM should work next year

i hope its good news... and not just support for more devices. Theming for the torch is a MESS.

another suggestion... KEEP ME SIGNED IN TO THE VENDOR PORTAL UNTIL I LOG OUT!

I hate having to log in after leaving the site for 15 20 mins...

Re: Suggestions RIM should work next year

agree, in Vendor Portal many times I've been logged out in the middle of actively editing a description, with no warning.  Many websites ask before timing out.  If ISVPORTAL must time out and can't detect a person typing, then it would be a big help if it gave a popup warning.  Even if we're not given a way to keep the session alive, at least please give us time to select-and-copy the text before it gets lost.

Vendor Portal request #2:  Return to the same page after editing an app.

Vendor Portal request #3:  Replace the 1-2-3-4-5 paging system with a fast, scrollable sidebar list of all our products (just the names, nothing fancy).  When a product is selected, its management pane appears in the main frame quickly without having to reload the entire page (something like the JDE's javadoc help page).  Switching products asks to save first if anything changed.  That would eliminate the return-to-wrong-page problem, and the page flipping trying to find products.  It would be practically scalable to a large number of apps, whereas the current system is not.  Try going through that system just to add 1 new device to all your products, it's very slow and cumbersome if you have 50+ of them.

Vendor Portal request #4:  Make it faster.  Anyone who's ever tried to access this from a BB browser knows it reloads the entire page for everything you do, every click, even just typing the userid.

Vendor Portal request #5:  Make it fully-usable from the BB browser.

Vendor Portal request #6:  Let us cancel change requests, including release submissions.

Re: Suggestions RIM should work next year

I like #6 - being able to cancel a request. I have released a theme update only to realize there is another error... so I have to upload ANOTHER one.... so 2 are pending now.

Re: Suggestions RIM should work next year

Another thing I would like to see on AppWorld is an option where users can select to see others products for the same vendor.

Re: Suggestions RIM should work next year

good idea Ale... you can do that on Mobihands site easily... seems like it would be a simple addition.
