I wanted to take a moment and chime in on the feedback being raised here so you know/understand we are listening. I appreciate the concerns raised about the processing time over the past while as we've dealt with the massive volume of applications that have entered the store and wanted you to know we are working to enhance processes to prevent this from happening in the future. If you've been on this board for a while, you've probably seend members of the vetting team (ie Satya, Winnie, and I) engaging on some posts to help address concerns and we plan on continuing to do this while in parallell addressing the normal processing channel.
Trending wise we are returning to normal operations and so it concerns me when I see commentary that there are instances of people waiting for weeks. Please helping me address that by sharing some details (ie appid or app name) so that we can investigate what is occuring there.

BTW: This thread reminds me thought that I have in my mind since January:
What kind of developers and what kind of apps is BlackBerry interested in.
I attended BB JAM in Amsterodam in September 2012 and I got feeling that BB is VERY interested in indie developers. All kinds of incentives looked like this (10k commitment, free devices, ...). I feld awesome because on Android it is much wilder.
In January it looked like indie developers went totally from viewfinder and spammers were prefered category.
They put people used to work for weeks and month on one app into same basket as prospectors mining free dev alphas and Z10's for generated apps.
And we are still in the same basket only difference that prospectors have their LEs (some of them already sold on ebay) and we are still waiting for reviews of our apps.
I personally earned on port-a-thons much more money (=200USD) than on "serious" apps (=50 USD).
I'm for six weeks without any device I can develop on because BB wanted their Dev Alpha before sending LE. I have two updates ready but I don't want to send them into BB World because I don't want to risk that my app will be broken there for weeks and I'll lose my ratings.
I really hoped that BB will establish good relations with indie developers but I don't see any signs for it. I'm sorry but I'll continue to improve my apps (two of them are in top 5 in their categories) only in leisure time (as hobby) as I'm afraid that under current conditions investing additional time to BB will just increase my loss from this platform.

It is a little worrisome if there are still major delays after the portathon stuff should (mostly) be over. I've been delaying updating/releasing new apps until the smoke clears, as I get impatient waiting weeks for apps to get accepted or not. I figure I'd be better off just waiting until the testing process is back to normal ... just not sure if it's even back to normal yet though.
And I can say based on my own experience, and what I have read from others here, that there was something (and perhaps still is) seriously wrong with the entire review process. Part of that may be due to the portathon and insane number of apps submiited ... that is to be expected. But the level of consistency (or lack thereof), lack of feedback, and general oddness of how some apps were denied, some seemingly randomly, really makes me think the entire review process needs an overhaul. It did help back when there was at least Amaris around who we could contact to look into things... and she did reply directly back. Is there a specific Blackberry person in charge of review stuff, that we can contact via email, if we have an issue? Simply sending emails to the developer email, or replying to a ticket (email black hole), isn't quite as helpful. And developers really shouldn't have to go into the forums and mention problems there, just to get some resolution.

@samyotte: New App (Bike Rental), submitted on Apr 4th (now 12 days). App ID: 26092872. 12 days is probably short compared to many, but you are indicating things are back to "normal" which had new app approval under 10 days. Please work on those paid apps that have been waiting longer then myself.

@samyotte If you are looking for waiting for review since February 28, 2013 look at app #24366880.
BTW: One comment regarding branding: you should consider to let dispute branding issues between brand owner and app owner. Both Google and Apple do it in the same way. But BB judges by themselves and I'm not sure whether it is best way how to do it

Well one of the problem is the port o thon. Backlog. Second is all the Android cr*p clogging the system. If you have time take a look at all the useless Android apps. BB is to blame and not developers and reviewers.
