App World Problems!

Downloaded it Via my storms brower, go to load it up. i get the message...

Upgrade your service plan to a plan that includes browsing and discover a world of possibilities at blackberry app world. Contact your service provider for more details ?

Of course i have unlimited plan so i dont know why it says that?

I tried ringing Vodafone, there systems are down.

Anyone have any ideas? In the mean time i will delete and re-install.

I had a quick search for what was needed and i found this :-

The following requirements must be met to use the BlackBerry App World storefront:

  • A wireless service data plan that supports web browsing
  • A BlackBerry smartphone with a trackball or touchscreen
  • BlackBerry® Device Software 4.2, 4.3, 4.5, 4.6, or 4.7

I Have all of the above so i dont see a problem :smileysad:

 Thanks In Advance.

Re: App World Problems!

That's OK, you're not missing much.  There are a whopping 15 apps in there now.

Re: App World Problems!

Forget my last post.  That was the Featured Apps which is the first thing that opens up.  There are more than 400 apps in there.  I guess you are missing a lot.  Sorry.

One other idea I have is to try clearing the browser cache, just in case.  In the browser, press the BB Menu button, select options, go to Cache Operations and clear the Content Cache.  I'm also assuming you've tried pulling the battery and reinstalling, correct?

I've also requested additional assistance for this so hopefully someone else can help out here.

Re: App World Problems!

All i get is the Failed to Transmit message.  One more thing i noted, the icon for this program is the only one i cannot do anything when i hit the blackberry button, ie nothing happens.. no move option, or anything.

I don't even know how to unistall and retry the procedure.

Re: App World Problems!

RIM APP WORLD = EPIC FAIL

1.  Storm freezes up and locks up more since installing.

2.  Prices, WTF, $2.99 AND UP, PLEASE

3.  No trials of apps

4.  Not all apps are built for or optimized for the storm.

If I or another member have helped, be sure to click the KUDOS!!!

Re: App World Problems!

After escalating this a bit, this actually seems to be an issue with Vodafone.

Apparently they are investigating this further.

In the meantime, here is the forum topic over on the Vodafone forums that addresses this exact issue:

http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=22007

This has been posted by the Vodafone eForum Team and basically indicates that they are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it.  Keep an eye on that forum as they will likely post a solution as soon as they have it.

I hope they are able to resolve the problem shortly. :smileyhappy:
