BlackBerry AppWorld is a store that enables you to download applications and themes. Some are freemium, other are premium.

Can I come to know when will this service be available in United Arab Emirates as I am not able to find good App for my Storm2 and Playbook.

And why is it taking so much time to get this service in UAE.

What about those countries that do have the BB Services but not App World?

It's really weird as I think BB Services need much more efforts to be started, but App World?..

I'm from Ukraine (in the middle of the Europe, almost 50M people...), where the BB Services are up and running, but I can't access the App World?

Any news on WHEN this can be changed? I mean once the BB Services are available, App World MUST be there too (if not sooner).

note that I do not ask "why not in my country?", I'm asking "why no app world if bb services already set up?" and "when (if at all) it will change?"

Hello again,

To truly know the answer to your question would likely require more in depth knowledge about how it all works. As volunteers, we actually do not have access to such things, especially if they veer into the realm of proprietary information. When we veer into these realms, all we can truly do is theorize. My theory is that it is indeed more complicated. After all, the fact that we see various levels of service availability indicates to me that such complexities exist. Couple this with the restrictions even within AppWorld -- some countries bar certain apps, even if they may allow AppWorld itself. So, the issues are complicated, involving contractual arrangements and agreements between RIM, the carrier, and even the government. Hence, it's complicated -- at least it is so within my theory.

Lastly...as for the "when" question...that veers into the forward looking arena...which likewise would require internal RIM proprietary information...which, even if someone had it, they'd likely be specifically barred from revealing it in forums such as these.

If AppWorld is not available for you, use another shop that is available in Lebanon.
For example MobiHand, Handango, getJAR, BPlay or Handmark.
Prices are the same whatever shop you choose.
