App World doesn't launch on Curve 9300

I received a notification that Blackberry World 4.3.0.32 was available on May 21.  Started the update process but was informed that I didn't have enough memory available to proceed.  Cleaned up space and tried again.... without success.  Now BB World doesn't launch (no error message just stays at home screen).

 

I reinstalled via "http://ca.blackberry.com/apps/blackberry-world/download.html".  Everything looked good from an install process but it didn't fix the problem.

 

O/S version 6.0 Bundle 2647

Current installed App World - 4.3.0.26

 

I've done the usual including the 'pop the battery' reboot but to no avail.

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

 

Thanks for the question.

 

I suggest removing BlackBerry World by going to Options>Device>Application Management.  Highlight BlackBerry World and press Menu>Delete.  Restart the BlackBerry Curve 9300 smartphone and then go to www.blackberry.com/appworld/download and re-download the application and restart one last time.

Thanks for the note.  

 

Tried it but same result.  Icon is there but nothing launches on click.  The icon does show up in the application switcher but not sure if that is relevant.

Hey docollyer,

Thanks for the reply.

 

I would suggest next to create a backup of your data through BlackBerry Desktop Software (Device>Backup).  Once completed, then follow the steps in this KB Article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14058 and test BlackBerry World prior to restoring any data.
