I have tried that solution but didn't worked for me.
Currently my BlackBerry app world is 4.0.0.55.
But no icon is visible.

I have updated Facebook and Twitter application...
Both icons are gone now...
Please help...

I forgot this issue and applied "all updates" .... too late, the faulty App World was in the list.

Had to apply the same "fix". Next time I have to remember how to apply the updates until RIM fix this problem.
