Got my first BB bold 9900, went online with it, made to the App store, picked a freebie as a test, made to the Download button, pressed download button and it replies "no cached credentials Error ID: 40721" What the hell, where can I go from this point please!

On your Manage Connections screen, click on the Services Status.
What is the status of the BlackBerry Internet Service?

Ah yes, I see it states - Not Connected, so how can I connect it as I've tried myself and the pamphlet provided isn't very informative. I've just downloaded the PDF Manual for 9900. This being my first Blackberry after having come from an old Windows Mobile OS lasting me 7 years.
I've been trying to translate the manuals' description of the problem and applying it to Phone and it took me to Location Settings which shows GPS settings, Location Aiding so I failed at that attempt.
Although I can access the Internet and the BB Apps World I can't download an app due to that message - Error ID: 40721
Could you help me sort it out in simpler terms?
P.S. Thanks for your prompt reply earlier.

I thought the forum details provided would be applicable for the Blackberry ID Services, anyway so I fixed that up I was able to get 3 apps and got 2 to work, good ratio I suppose, but I did so using the desktop software and the BB plugged to my computer but I still get the error message in question on BB smartphone when I tried to download apps using the smartphone on its own and unplugged, I doubt it but apart from the user, could it be the Model itself?

In relation to a issue currently in discussion ( Error ID: 40721) Is there a subscription fee required to download paid apps or free apps using the BB bold 9900 when the device is disconnected from my computer? Just asking because I was unsuccessful disconnected but successful when it was connected to my computer. I went to the web site and logged in using BlackBerry ID but still I had to use my computer's browser to get apps and not the handheld device in any way.
Sorry about this part as I was supposed to add this question to the previous reply I sent to the support (JS)

There is no fee associated with the free applications for AppWorld.
I am confused about what you are describing as the issue... I asked a question above and I don't see that you've answered it.

Oh apologies, When I tried it I get a dialogue box saying - Unable to update BlackBerry ID account information while offline, but I can go online and visit websites using the phones browser.

So your WiFi connection is working, and your BIS account is not?
