BB ID issue now that I have upgraded to Z10

Hello,  I have a PB 64GB and upgraded my 9700 to a Z10.  The Z10 has mentioned several times that I need to change from my @service.blackberry.net email and I started the process once but didn't finish, i had to back out.  At least I thought I did.  The @hotmail.com account I tried switching it to I have owned since the 90's.  I now am unable to change my @s.bb.net account to my hotmail account because it says that the hotmail one exists.  I can log in to 2 different accounts now, they are very similar on the bbid.com page and both share the same password recovery question.  I have already moved all my data from the 9700 to the Z10.  I don't understand how the secondary account was created and it never sent me an email about the @hotmail.com being created so I don't have an email to use to delete it.

What I want/need to do is delete the BBID @hotmail.com and then change the @s.bb.net account to my @hotmail.com email address.  How can I go about doing this?

Please use plain text.

Re: BB ID issue now that I have upgraded to Z10

Hey

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Can you please confirm if you see your purchased items in the newly created BlackBerry ID under My World in BlackBerry World? Has your previous screen name also been used in the newly created BlackBerry ID?

If a second BlackBerry ID was created you can simply log into the BlackBerry ID that was created in error at www.blackberry.com/bbid. Next you will want to change the username (email address) from your Hotmail Account to another account.

Next simply log into the your BlackBerry ID account using your @service.blackberry.net email account and change the username (email address) to your Hotmail Account.

If you have already associated the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone with your newly created BlackBerry ID the device will need to be reset to factory (Reloaded). This will remove the unwanted BlackBerry ID associated to it and will allow you to assign the correct BlackBerry ID.

*Please note the below steps to Reload the Blackberry Z10 smartphone:

*Note before reloading the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone software please backup the data stored on the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone using BlackBerry Link.

BlackBerry Link can be downloaded and installed from the below site:

www.blackberry.com/blackberrylink

To backup the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone Software please follow the below steps:

Windows/Mac

1.On your computer, open BlackBerry Link.
2.Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
3.At the bottom of the screen, click your device.
4.Click the Settings icon. In the Settings view, in the left pane, click Back Up Now.

Note: You can select data to include in your backup files by selecting specific data in the Settings view.

Alternatively, the following steps can also be performed:

1.To back up your device data, you can also click beside your device at the bottom of your screen. Click Back Up.

To reload the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone software please follow the below steps:

1.Open BlackBerry Link.
2.Connect the smartphone using the micro USB cable.
3.At the bottom of the BlackBerry Link window, click the Computer tab.
4.Select settings.
5.Under Reload Device Software, select Reload.
6.Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone smartphone has been reloaded please attempt to test to see if the issue can be reproduced.

I look forward to your reply

Re: BB ID issue now that I have upgraded to Z10

I was so focused on deleting the one account I didn't even think to change the email address.  I honestly only use the hotmail.com address (15+ years now) for my personal emails, never changed and never created bogus for anything.  The @service.bb.net of course was supplied but I never gave it out.

I ended up changing the hotmail.com to my work email and then the @service.bb.net to the hotmail.com.  My Z10 and PB are setup correctly now to the account and there is a floating account using my works email address which I will never use.

I appreciate the fix and apologize as I should have thought of that.

Your time and assistance is greatly appreciated!
