BBM not working

My BBM app isn't working. Can't send or receive messages. Anyone else have this problem?

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.

Are you using the mobile network or a Wi-Fi connection when this happens? Are you able to send and receive email messages?

I have a similar problem.  Never used BBM before in my life.  I have a BB Curve model and would like to get started with BBM.   I see an icon for "Instant Messaging" on my phone and once I select the icon, all I can see is "pending contacts", "contacts" and "conversation".  I do not seem to be able to go any further.

 

Can anyone help?

Hi Hanseatic,


Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
BBM requires a supported data plan from your mobile network provider. I recommend contacting them first to verify that your data plan is correct. This KB article may also help. "When adding a contact to BlackBerry Messenger the contact remains in pending status" KB12319
