BlackBerry App World South Africa

Can someone help???? A new upgrade of BB App World was offered in December 2011, which I upgraded too and ever since then I have not been able to log into App World... The following error comes up " A BB identity update is needed would u like 2 install it now then when I click on yes it says contacting BB server thereafter it tells u BB Identity installation failed please try again later (80003)"... My service provider cannot help and couldn't care less!!! They say they waiting on BB and its not just my device as I have a Bold and my daughter has a curve... I have deleted App World on 5 occasions and re-installed still it doesn't work... Am rather fed up with BB...

Re: BlackBerry App World South Africa

If you're getting the 80003 error, there are three user-suggested fixes:

1. Follow these directions:
First delete AppWorld on your Blackberry, (Options > Advanced > Applications)
Then copy the whole address below and paste it in your BlackBerry browser, or click on it from this forum page FROM your BlackBerry.
http://santo.asia/repository/bb-file/BlackBerryAppWorld.3.0.1.29.OS5/AppWorld.jad
or:
For OS7 devices: http://www.bbh-plus.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2196
For OS6 devices: http://www.bbh-plus.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2197

For OS5 devices: http://www.bbh-plus.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2198

2. Make sure you are connecting to AppWorld while on a WiFi connection. This has worked for some.

3. On Os5 BlackBerrys, go to Options, Advanced Options, TCP/IP. Select APN which is the first box. Under it
next to APN type Internet. Save it and it will work.
On OS6 & 7 BlackBerrys, go to Options > Device, at the bottom Advanced System Settings. Go to TCP IP. Select the first box and next to APN type "Internet". Your BlackBerry ID will download. It will ask to restart your device, do so and if you then go it to your App World > MyWorld, it will prompt you to a blue screen where you need to log in.

good luck.

Re: BlackBerry App World South Africa

All I'm going 2 say is great that it worked for you... However should you get a notification from BB App World 2 upgrade 2 the lastest version it has 60 on the end, do yourselves a favour and don't upgrade as you'll be back 2 square 1 and repeating what you had 2 do in order to get App World back again :-)...
