I am having the same problem. Also tried installing the App World upgrade via the website (USB) and that didn't work either.
Torch 9800, 18.104.22.168, and many reboots.

It appears the current workaround is to downgrade your AppWorld client to version 22.214.171.124. This can be done by visiting the following link in your browser.

Thanks @JSanders. That worked in terms of restoring the Blackberry App World icon after reboot. When I accessed it the first time around it refused to show any applications installed. Did an alt-rst and tried again; worked. Hope it works for others. For the record, I am on a Torch 9800 with 126.96.36.1995
