Ive downloaded the Blackberry Protect App to my Blackberry Curve 9300 and when i try to sign into it to enable it all that comes up is "The Blackberry ID service is temporarily unavailable"

I am connected to the net yet this still comes up. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Could this be because i do not have the Blackberry internet pack?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Yes, that is definitely the reason. BB Protect is a part of the enhanced services you receive when you sign up for a BB-level data plan. Without that, many of the functions on your BB will not work...see this for reference:

You are most welcome! In all honestly, a BB without a BB-level data plan is not worth having, IMHO. But, enjoy!

Where as if you do havde the data plan (as I do) you get the same error but pay for the data plan.

I had the data plan before and when it ran out I noticed that a lot of apps such as MSN stopped working. Now I have it again everything works and so does BBProtect

My BB Protect application always shows "Verifying BlackBerry ID". How can i solve this issue. Pls help. I have already subscribed to BB services. i'm receiving mails & able to browse.

mine says my wireless service does not include blackberry protect, which is weird as it works fine all the while until 2 days ago. i have data plan and the emails are working fine. i just don't get why the sudden troubleshoot issue...

I have the same problem than Joansia except than me it doesn't work after the update of blackberry software! All my other aps are fine, and I have data plan.
Help please it's' kind of annoying.
