That is the suggestion in the link above and does not work. All you get is a canned email back saying use the vendor support site...but I'm not a vendor.
Support for App World is just nonexistant. There is no way to contact anyone. This is extremely frustrating! ![]()

Hi there!
Actually, there is a way to seek support from RIM for AppWorld. To do so, go to this URL:
and fill out the form. Use, in the "Please select a component:" field, the AppWorld Billing/Payment selection; any other selection will simply route you back anonymously to these public forums. If you don't have an "Order Number" for that field, just use anything (e.g., "123456"). If the form responds telling you that your PIN is invalid, then please report that fact back here as there is a separate resolution path for that issue.
Otherwise, formal front-line support for all BB's is not actually provided by RIM -- rather, the carriers and authorized resellers are responsible for front-line support, and can escalate your case into RIM should then need to.
Cheers!

Thank you for the contact info sdgardne. I searched everywhere but could only find paid tech support for devices. I submitted the problem and hopefully they can take care of it. I'll report back once I get some answers.
Btw, just to keep the support flow in order, I contacted PayPal about the problem and they show no problems with the account. I've been trying to purchase a $5.99 app with $600 available in my account. I have been able to purchase several apps from other sites using PayPal so they have concluded it's a problem with App World so I'm hoping RIM can fix it for me soon.

That is correct -- by contract, RIM does not service the warranties nor provide front-line support for BB's...that is the responsibility of the carriers and authorized resellers. For AppWorld, the portal I directed you to is the sole formal support vehicle presently available from RIM.
But, now you intrigue me...

As a balance on the PayPal account itself? And is there a valid and current credit card attached to the PayPal account? If not, that is indeed a requirement...I believe that you can choose the funding source when you make the purchase through AppWorld, but the transaction will not even begin unless there is a valid credit card attached to the PayPal account. (BTW -- many have already complained about this restriction -- but it is what it is ATM.) I have also heard of other that, for whatever reason, they could not get a purchase to go through...until they created a brand new PayPal account and attached a valid credit card to it...then their transaction went through. Again, don't know why...but that's what I've seen.
Best!

I have just received this error and I've been using AppWorld with PayPal since I got my Blackberry in December with no problem. I checked PayPal, and there's not a problem there, I have read this forum, so I checked Paypal, made sure I had my valid credit card there, and all is good with that. I deleted AppWorld, redownloaded AppWorld, and still have the problem. So none of these solutions work.
Blackberry MUST resolve this issue! Perhaps it's only a temporary problem and if I try in a day or two, it will be fine, but really, this is unacceptable.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Every bit of resolution is posted within this thread, including how to submit to RIM...which, btw, is not accomplished by posting in these forums.
Best!
