I'm out of ideas on this one...save for removing and re-installing FB. Or perhaps an OS reload. Or perhaps Compatibility Mode on the FB app...
You should search around these forums to find others who are experiencing it to see if they have yet found other solutions.

BB just sent me a solution and it has worked! Huzzah!
Please ensure that you have a backup of your device.

After the Clean Install procedure, download and install Facebook v1.7 directly to your device. If it is working normally, take the following steps:
DO NOT use the "Restore" feature to recover data and settings as the issue may be caused by the data in the backup file. You must only recover data from your backup file by using the "Advanced" feature of Backup and Restore. The Advanced feature will allow you to select individual databases to restore to your device.
