Menu > Close.
Afterwards, hit Switch Application and scroll across and you will not see it present.

It works for me.
Don't power cycle. Pull the battery WHILE powered ON.
Reboot and look at App Switcher again.
Is your AppWorld listed?

Glad to hear you got it working. A hard reset (Battery Pull) is usually always a better option then a soft reset (Alt+Shift+Del)
