The solution here refers to a problem with older versions of the Blackberry OS. I am on a 9800 Torch with version 6 and having the same problem. The system offered me an update of appworld, so i proceeded to download it. It then told me that Appworld is not available in my country (which is not true as i am in the UK). When I returned to my home screen the appworld app had disappeared. After rebooting, it was still absent. I tried to download it again and it downloaded OK, but after telling me that I already have the lates version installed on the device. I reinstalled it again and rebooted, but still no icon. Any suggestions?

I just ran into the same issue on my Torch9810, running OS 7.1
I upgraded appworld and now the icon is gone.
I've un-installed and re-installed the app numerous times, with no success.
When I download and install it, the following error appears: "Uncaught exception: no application instance", followed by "The application was successfully installed".
It shows under installed applications, but the icon won't return.

My problem was finally solved when I redownloaded the app via my home wifi connection. For some reason this seemed to finally work.

Well I know sooner posted this, and RIM has created a new version.
The new one is 4.0.0.63.
I donwloaded it, installed it and everything is AOK.
The previous version, I believe it was 4.0.0.55 wasn't compatable with my device.
