Right now I have no appworld app installed. I read that the newer apps required a data plan so I found and tried to load 2.0.0.36 - but have unable to get that installed. I use the Hotspot Browser.

bad news...
Please read the requirements for AppWorld. You can read them in the following article from the public knowledge base.
KB17659 Minimum requirements for BlackBerry App World
your device is a 8320, which means your OS is 4.2, 4.3 or 4.5.
You can see in the article that you cannot install/use AppWorld unless you have the BIS data plan.
AppWorld through Wifi is for OS5, and you cannot install OS5 on your device.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are cutting spending everywhere possible, so I don't see me buying BIS anytime soon. I downloaded an app from TripIt and it didn't work. They suggested deleting and reinstalling. They did host it on their site, but now only point to appworld. I travel with my pastor and like to have travel plans on my BB calendar. Since Google killed off its sync tool, I've been looking for alternatives.

you can find additionnal information about calendar sync here:
KB03652 Comparing BlackBerry Internet Service and BlackBerry Enterprise Server features
and email sync here:
KB05133 Email reconciliation features for the BlackBerry Internet Service
so if I were yo not use GoogleMail anymore, based on those two articles I would go for Yahoo, or Hotmail.

Thanks again!
Not gonna subscribe to BIS. Dropped a no-data T-Mobile plan for PureTalkUSA and am saving $50 a month.
I've looked and searched for anything that would synch my Google calendar to my BB. Yahoo has stopped their synch tool. Windows Live (replaced Hotmail) won't synch with BB. Only Outlook does - and I am not ready to buy Outlook. Would rather use Lightning with Thunderbird. Would that BB Desktop Manager would allow organizer synch with Windows Live or Lightning. I could live in that space.
