Re: error 80003 cannot access bb ID update server

Hi All.  I had the excact same problem that whenever I want to access the app world it gives this message that the blackberry identity must be updated and when you want to update it it gives the error 80003 message.  After spending almost a whole saturday morning at vodashop trying to sort this out they wanted to send my phone away.  I refused.  Luckily I came accross someone with the same problem and his advice worked.  You have to connect your blackberry onto a wirless internet service.  Then try to update your ID and it is supposed to go through.  I could't believe it is so easy after I have been batteling for 2 months and nobody could help me.  The vodacom support team just keep on saying there is a problem with the app world but don't give you any sollution.  Try this, it works.  My phone is sorted now.

Re: error 80003 cannot access bb ID update server

It is acctually very easy to fix after I have been batteling for 2 months.  Not vodacom customer care or nobody could help me untill I came across someone with the sullotion.  You have to connect your blackberry onto a wirless internet network.  Then try to update your bb ID and it is supposed to go through.

Re: error 80003 cannot access bb ID update server

To all... RIM has now released a Knowledge Base article on this issue...

Article ID: KB29613 The error "BlackBerry Identity installation failed. Please try again later. (80003)" is displayed within BlackBerry App World

While that doesn't 'resolve' the issue, it offers the workarounds suggested in this thread.

Re: error 80003 cannot access bb ID update server

@ Leticia - unfortunately, its most likely a Blackberry Issue & will not be any different if u relace ur current phone. I am on my 2nd BB Curve 8530 & the 2nd phone has more problems than the one I replaced.

I have given up. It's crazy that customers need to wait soooo long for even a reply on how to fix the issue. I am unable to connect to @ least 75%of the apps I downloaded including BB App World. Just look @ how many individual are having the same issues. I-phone here I come!

Good luck Leticia.
