help with my bold 9780

Long story short, I made a terrible mistake when I registered my phone initially for a blackberry ID, I wrote my email address wrong.

I never noticed the mispelling I did until the day came when I forgot my password. Now I cannot recover my password for my blackberry ID, because my  blackberry ID email is mispelled, hence account doesnt exist.

I tried to register a new email address on the phone, it doesnt allow me, what can I do now? BBID locked, I cannot update any software.

Re: help with my bold 9780

Actually, for your situation as you've described it, the first KB linked for you above may well be your only recourse.

Since you have forgotten your BB ID credentials AND you originally used an incorrect email address, then you have a choice to make depending on your circumstances:

If you have no AppWorld records that you require to retain (e.g., purchase records for apps), then simply abandon the BB ID and create a new one. To do so, however, does require a device WIPE...exactly as described in the first above-linked KB.

But, if you do have AppWorld records that you must keep, then you require human intervention. To receive that, you must ring up your mobile service provider and convince them to escalate your case up to RIM. Further, you must convince RIM to provide you with a solution -- which likely will either be resetting your current BB ID so that you can again access it or having you create a new BBID and they will manually move your purchase records over. Note that I have no idea if they will be willing to do this, but there is no other way that I know of to retain your prior AppWorld purchase records.

Good luck!
