Ive searched and searched for this EAST ASIAN LANGUAGE PACK for my storm...on this site.

as you can tell ive had no luck....Can someone offical from this web site, reply and tell me, how i can get japanese text to show up on my screen instead of a poxy black dot...

Can it be done.???

That is correct. These forums are not a formal support channel. They are merely a user-to-user method. Formal support is provided, as with all things in your BB, via your carrier and/or authorized reseller.

so let me re-phases my question. lol

Is there anyone out there, who has a bb storm and that has installed the east asian pack onto there storm and got it to work...using the new blackberry updated software

any help would be nice. thanks again

ya i saw it thanks mate, but....nothing comes up with the new updated V5.01 version of bb desk, nothing there comes close to thr east asian pack..lol

It's not the Desktop software update you need...it's the Device OS package. DL and install that (the one that matches your device OS) to your PC, then DTM will be able to install the language pack to your BB.

May I ask if your Storm is 9530 or 9500?  (Or Storm 2, i.e. 9550 or 9520?)

For 9530 please locate 9530jAllLang_PBr4.7.0_rel230_PL4.0.0.205_A4.7.0.167_Redington__India__Limited.exe at http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp.  (Japanese-enabled OS 5 package is NOT YET available . . . it may never become available.)

For 9500 please locate 9500_omadrmjAllLang_PBr5.0.0_rel801_PL4.2.0.214_A5.0.0.484_SmarTone_Vodafone.exe and the like.  (Japanese-enabled OS 5 package is available for many Asian carriers at http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp.)

Such OS files can be installed on your BlackBerry device with C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader>Loader.exe but please DO NOT try to install such OS files unless you are familiar with do-it-yourself BlackBerry OS upgrading.

NTT DoCoMo (the largest carrier in Japan) has so far introduced 8707h and 9000 (Bold) to Japan and neither Storm nor Storm 2 has been sold in Japan.
