Re: 10.1 Update Did Not Fix Sending Email Issue!

Well,

I noticed that all the email accounts on my Z10 are IMAP so I set up a Pop/SMTP account to just test...

Account type = pop

not using ssl so port 110 for pop and port 25 for smtp

Works with no problem  so not sure were to try to go from here...

Have you tried deleting the account and setting it up again?

What are the settings you are using?

Has your ISP been of any help on this?

Had one more thought, do you have a gmail account?  If not you can open one quickly then set it up as a pop account on your Z10 to test...

    Gmail SMTP server address: smtp.gmail.com
Gmail SMTP user name: Your full Gmail address
Gmail SMTP password: Your Gmail password
    Gmail SMTP port: 465
    Gmail SMTP TLS/SSL required: yes

    Gmail POP server address: pop.gmail.com
Gmail POP user name: Your full Gmail address
Gmail POP password: Your Gmail password
    Gmail POP port: 995
    Gmail POP TLS/SSL required: yes

If it work, the issue is with the mail server you are trying to send through.  If you get the same sort of error... well then we are kind of back to rethinking...

Re: 10.1 Update Did Not Fix Sending Email Issue!

My pop account was not having this issue on 10.0 nor on 10.1.  Curious, have you tried setting up that account on K9 email app?

FWIW, my pop settings are:

Server type: POP

Server name POP3.XXX.net

Port 110

Outgoing:

asmtp.xxx.net

port 25

Password, transmitted insecurely

I believe the asmtp setting allowed this account to work (though there were other issues) even under 10.0

Re: 10.1 Update Did Not Fix Sending Email Issue!

donb,

I found an interesting thread on crackberry com (this forum won't let me paste the link

forums crackberry com/blackberry-z10-f254/outgoing-email-did-not-work-so-i-returned-z10-798758

Apparently it is a bug that on some hosted email servers SMTP mail does not work...

Re: 10.1 Update Did Not Fix Sending Email Issue!

i can send email from my home ISP.  but my home ISP and work are the same.  but of course they are using different switches at my work though.  IT informed me that they are not blocking port 25.  i will see what results i get connecting to a few other WIFI networks.

Did you try to see if your account will work using "K9"?

Ok I tried sending on a couple of other networks and was successful. So it appears corporate is blocking port 25.  My ISP happened to have an alternate SMTP port 1025 available. I changed my SMTP port to 1025 and was able to finally send an email via corporate network.
