He's in Europe, a different model variant of z10, but basically the very same OS release.

Re: BB10 BATTERY LIFE (Or lack Therof...)

Update - I know WHAT is causing it.

In Email - Advanced settings there is an option "PUSH". Turned it off. Unplugged my phone at 8AM, at 23:20 it just dropped below 50%. Morning at least was pretty steady usage, including a couple of times in sketchy coverage areas. Previously that would have been 11:00 at the latest. So I'm looking at about 16-20 usable hours, which I could live with.

Problem now is the shortest setting for checking email is 15 minutes. I get email I need to respond to in less time than that. Plus, eventually I need to set up at least one more email account on this phone, which may load it down a bit more. So I hope BB fixes this soon.

Another question which occurs - I assume the drain is occurring because the Active Sync is constantly checking for updates. Thats likely to start adding up data transfer, isn't it?

Is your ActiveSync on an exchange 2003 server?

I've had a couple of Exchange users tell me the device has been polling the server 1500-1900 times a day, an incredibily high amount. So, Gerald, that would make sense if yours is doing so, that the battery would be compromised severaly.

Re: BB10 BATTERY LIFE (Or lack Therof...)

No Idea what kind of server it is. Just a Shaw.ca address. Eventually its going to migrate to a Telus address but the Shaw one needs to stay working for the imediate future.

The phone may poll more or less depending on what type of server it is polling? How does it even know that and why would there be a difference?

Re: BB10 BATTERY LIFE (Or lack Therof...)

so the shaw.ca  is likely not an exchange account.

Only asking because a couple of the users here have reported this issue.
