Blackberry 10 wont backup

I keep getting an error msg saying that the device is not connected properly (it is) and I have tried rebooting it and the computer but I keep getting the same error. Yes, I am using Blackberry Link as well and made sure everything was updated to the current version as well.

 

I need to back up my info because I am already having other issues with it and the store will probably just exchange it.

To better assist you with this I have a couple questions:

 

What operating system are you using on your computer? 

What is the full full error message you receive?

Do you have a firewall or anti-virus running on the computer?

Hi, I'm having a similar problem.

I installed Link both on a Mac OSX10.6.8 and 2 Windows 7 machines.

 

I definitely have antivirus software and a firewall running on the windows machines, though I do not have either on the Mac.

 

On the Mac, I just get the message "Communication Failure" and then "Backup Failure."  On the windows machines, it's more or less the same.  

 

 

If it helps, I can send the log files.  On the Mac, I was able to create a logfile.  On one of the windows machines, I started the process, but something went wrong midprocess, so I'm not sure if log files were even properly generated.

I'm having the same issue as well. It says backup failed check to see if the device is on (which it is) or connected. 

 

Changed cable, used different USB ports restarted the phone and it always stops at 55%

 

Using the newest BB10 software which was released yesterday as well.

Same issue on Mac OS 10.8.2 with all updates applied.  

I can sync the device without issue - music, pictures, etc.  When I attampt to backup, it says it gets a connection error.

The same happens to me. Looks like there is an issue not properly solved yet

I was only able to backup after de - selecting application data in the back up

It may work, but less useful if application data is lost.

Well it's games and apps that can be re downloaded. I read on other forums some side loaded apps or bad apps mess up the backup process. Also another post said after 670ish mb it won't backup. My contacts and settings/entries were the most important
