Cannot backup with Link - "Device not associated with Blackberry ID"

Please help!

 

I have never been able to backup my Z10 with Link, either on a Mac or a PC. I've installed the Link software and connected the PC with the Z10. It makes a connection and I am able to transfer photos and music. However, whenever I try and backup the device, I get an error that reads: "This device is not associated with a Blackberry ID. On your device, sign in to your Blackberry ID to backup the following - Applications, Settings". BUT, I am signed into Blackberry ID both on the Z10 AND on Link, the same ID on both devices. I have checked this several times. I've logged out of my ID on Link and back in. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Link several times and I still get the same error message.

 

This is very frustrating. I really need to be able to backup my Z10 and can't. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to hear you're having an issue backing up your device.

 

What version of BlackBerry Link are you using? 

 

What's your Mac OSX version? Windows version? 

 

What's the software version on your BlackBerry Z10? Can you send me a private message of your device PIN and your BlackBerry ID? (I can investigate for you).

Thanks for the reply and offer to help. Here's the info you asked for:

 

Blackberry Link: 1.1.0.37

 

MacOS - 10.8.3

Windows - Windows 8 64-bit

 

Blackberry OS - 10.1.0.282 (a leaked version of 10.1, I'm on AT&T and 10.1 hasn't been released. I had the same troubles before I upgraded to 10.1)

 

Sorry, how do I PM you with the rest of the info (PIN # and ID)? I'm new here.

It's not advised to use software that has not been officially released by your mobile carrier.

Please downgrade to the supported software for your provider so we may continue troubleshooting.

I am having this same problem, and have tried all of those things with my phone and even downloaded Link at work because I thought my computer being slow had something to do with it.

 

I am really stuck with this and don't want to update my Blackberry OS because I haven't been able to back up since I got the phone!
