Cannot upgrade my OS to the latest version ( Z10)

Hi Guys,

 

i bought a blackberry Z10 OS veriosn 10.0.10.672 and im facing lotta of issues like :

 

- Map isnt working ( it fails to open with "Map Data is currently not available in your countery " Msg )

- Word substitution option is not working at all 

- The worst thing im facing that it reboots from time to another without any alerts !! 

 

I knew that there is a newer version which is OS 10.1 but i cannot upgrade to that version , i tried Link , softwar upgrade option in settings and tried to upgrade from blackberry official site but all but i couldn't , All says that i have the most recent update while im not !!! 

 

Also i tried to restore to factory settings using link to fix this , but even after that restore it failed to upgrade 

 

Kindly advise ASAP as its really horrible to face all of this in the 1st week only !!

I had issues with updating too in the beginning, i updated eventually via the update button thingy on the website i had to remove my simcard

you need to run your blackberry desktopp software in order to see the button.

it fails with : There are no blackberry device software updates available ?!!

  1. Disconnect the Z10 from your USB connection to the PC and close Link.
  2. Open the rear of the Z10 and remove the SIM card (not the media card).
  3. Open a PC browser and reconnect the Z10 to your PC.
  4. In the PC browser, type in the URL: www.blackberry.com/updates
  5. Scroll down and click on Check for Upgrades. **If your Z10 is off at this point, now try pressing and holding the top edge power button for 10 seconds to power up the Z10, or to allow the desktop to recognize the Z10 is connected.
  6. If the Z10 is recognized, and there is an update available for you, you will be asked if you want to upgrade.
  7. Proceed with the upgrade, could take anywhere from one to two hours according to your device data, etc., and data speed

Thanks Daan for your support , but it still failing with that message : There are no blackberry device software updates available ?!!

Make sure the software is installed on your computer and is running

Software i have is blackberry link
and blackberry desktop software

I'm not sure if you need both but i have

then read the above steps carefully

I think th Bb desktop software is for devices earlier than z10.
Im having link installed, and i have already followed the above steps.... but nothing changed!

 I'm not some sort of expert but i had the same problem so i see what i can do for you.

 

I was using windows 7 and firefox when doing the update thingy btw

 

Update using BlackBerry Link

 

Make sure you have the latest version of BlackBerry Link installed.
Connect your BlackBerry 10 device. Once it's recognized by BlackBerry Link, click the gear icon to access the settings page.
From here you should see the option to reload device software. Click the button to start the process. Your device may reboot a time or two in between.
If any new software is found, you'll see a prompt and can begin the installation. As above, make sure you backed up your device first and you have some time to kill as the update will take a while.
